Nochmal die Frage: was tut "N"?

Was "N" macht - keine Ahnung.

I have the real world price for most of the guns (valid for America), but it may be unbalancing to implement them:
Some Russian guns are extremely cheap, and some Western ones are really expensive. So if the enemies drop more of the valuable ones, you may find yourself drowning in money. So price is a balancing factor that cannot easily be fixed, it should be tied to the 'value' of the gun in the game, not the real price (am I mad to say that, where I am lobbying for realism in JA2?).
I have talked to Mugsy about the idea to restrict the Arulcan Army to the cheaper stuff, so that the player cannot pay his team by selling guns alone. You'll have to get the better (and more expensive) stuff from Bobby Ray then, but you can get your money back by selling it to Tony, once you no longer need it. We have no result of this talk as of now...

If 'cheaper stuff' means 'lesser power' such implementation is causative of an unbalanced gameplay.
If 'drop all' is set, the gamer can replace quality by quantity with nearly the same result.

in the end, modmakers will have to rebalance the 1.13 guns anyway
maybe you can ask muggsy to have the arulcan army equipment toggleable in an .INI files
(options: affordable stuff only, means ak-47, SKS, SVD, Ruger Mini, M16, G3, Fn Fal and so on)
:east european stuff only
:western stuff only
:all weapons
as long as we keep an unmodified arulco story setting, we can`t switch to a east european/ russian gus setting becasue arulco/ deidranna is not communist, quite the opposite
given the estimated arulco timeline, you were either to have m16 or ak-47 as a civil war faction. Now since Miguel`s rebels are the pseudo-socialist rebels using AKM, deidrannas army uses by default the M16
so i think the best idea is to leave this up to each modmaker, either in terms of a setting similar to the original`s normal/ tons of guns setting or by simply editing bobby ray`s, tony`s inventory and enemy weapon choices as well as the UBcoolness stat of the guns
I`m fairly sure i will make lots of adjustments to my game once they release a version where i don`t have to expect further changes to the weaponmod

Well, at this point we do not even know whether we are going through with it. There was no contact for several days.smilingassassin hat geschrieben:in the end, modmakers will have to rebalance the 1.13 guns anyway

Well, I happen to have a list of the different outfits of the South American countries, and some use AK-47/AKM (like Guyana and Peru).as long as we keep an unmodified arulco story setting, we can`t switch to a east european/ russian gus setting becasue arulco/ deidranna is not communist, quite the opposite

The most common weapons down there are: the FN HP35 and Colt 1911 for pistols; Uzi and HK MP5 for SMGs; M16A1, HK G3 and FN FAL for ARs; almost none have Sniper Rifles; FN MAG, Saco M60 and M2HB for Machine Guns. Forget the M2HB, though, it's a crew served machine gun that is either used on vehicles or a tripod.
Who will not?I`m fairly sure i will make lots of adjustments to my game once they release a version where i don`t have to expect further changes to the weaponmod

Another aspect is the liquidity of the traders.smilingassassin hat geschrieben: in the end, modmakers will have to rebalance the 1.13 guns anyway
Selling the highest possible amount of weaponry every day will generate
an enormous additional income, which can be similar to two full operating silvermines.
When money balance isn´t ok, the game becomes too easy and losses the financial aspect.
Tons of weapons with no selling possibility are frustrating, too.
The more and the better weaponry is in the game, the more difficulties will occur.

yes, this is one of the bottomn line problem for mods
ja2 itself has for a normal game already a very wide range of firearms. Players would like even more guns (due to boredom or personal preference or due to gun-nerdism)
however, the more guns you add, the more complicated balancing gets, not only weapon by weapon balancing, but also gameplay, financial aspect, and the aspect of getting rid of stuff that lies around. it is important to have a possibility to get some use of leftover stuff (e.g money)
more weapons always means less differences between two selected weapons which will cause some frustration/ boredom
more weapons usually mean an advantage for the player over the AI, even more so when it comes to more attachments
however more attachemnts will certainly be useful for balancing one weapon against another
1.13 weaponmods for the future will need thorough playtesting and feedback from the community.
also, depending on mod topic, the selection of firearms can be reduced again (no OICW in a game setting before 1990 for example)

couldn't You link the drop all option to militia must be equipped by the player
What would mean equipped with anything (arms, Grenades, ammo, armor),
thus leading to different equippment for different miltias (location and level)
The gamer would have to supply and repair.
It would be his choice which militiaman has witch equipment, where he is postet and what are his orders (attack, bombartment [mortar], stay and so on)

perhaps it is to define a warehouse and the automatic supply for militias.
Automatic supply means as long as available in the warehouse.
Booty will be brought to the warehouse by the militia

Another more simple way to neutralize financial "drop all"-benefits could be
to lower the prices when weapons are selled.
This will prevent players from getting unbalanced advantages and
will decrease the lot of stuff in the maps.

Why do you all cry about "dop all" and "sell"?

uiui are we still talking about JA2?
I don´t want milita stepping up to become a 08/15-merc named "pedro" or whatever, and i definitely don´t want to fit out my milita with guns. Hell i´ve got hands full training them and my mercs don´t want to be delivery-boys for milita-outfitting warehouses.
Using "drop all" makes it too easy to get good equip anyway, imo, but thats my opinion.
@morki:
maybe the merc that got the interrupt already had no action points to spend?
Its not logical to get an interrupt with 0 ap but, hey *g*

PPS: US Gold.

I had a strange encounter. Met Mike right outside Balime on the northern road. He was apparently moving eastward together with a squad of maby eight men... i think he wanted to attack Alma.
Anyone ever seen something similar?
PS: hasn't there been a shortcut to add a merc to the selection? Something like SHIFT&click?`Can't seem to figure it out in this damn Gold Edition.

Hoi Chummers,
I can't see your problem with the drop all option. If you don't want to swim in money, you only have to change the %price of the original weapon price that you get when you sell the gun in the options.ini.
